Amid a storm of Dell phone leaks yesterday, the Dell Lightning emerged as the highlight of the Windows 7 operated handsets and it looks like this is one phone that will go down a treat.
News of the Dell leaks were picked up by Engadget who revealed that the stylish new phone will feature a portrait QWERTY slide-out keyboard, and will run on Windows Phone 7 OS.
The Dell lightening certainly packs a punch, and is the best out of the storm of leaks that also include the Dell Thunder and Dell Aero. Among its rather impressive spec list is a 1GHZ QSD8520 Snapdragon processor, a 4.1” OLED display, T-Mobile 3G, 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus capabilities, GPS, Wi-Fi, full Flash support (sorry iPhone users!) with video playback and 512MB RAM and 8GB of storage on a MicroSD card.
Not only that but it has also been hinted that the Dell Lightning will also be getting an upgrade to LTE 4G, so this is definitely a phone to be keeping an eye on.
The release date for the Dell Lightning has yet TBC but it is currently looking likely to be released in the last quarter of 2010, meaning that this will be one of the first handsets to be released with the next Microsoft OS pre-loaded onto it. No ideas on pricing, but expect it to hit you where it hurts as we doubt a phone with a spec like this will come cheap.
