Microsoft has unveiled their two new phones from their ‘Project Pink’ line which have been names as Kin One and Kin Two and are aimed at the social networking generation.
The two new phones are a bid on Microsoft’s part to get back some of the market share and has aimed it’s new offerings at frequent users of social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.
Both phones were developed in conjunction with electronics manufacturer Sharp.
The Kin phones have their own operating systems and rather than being fully fledged smartphones they are primarily for those who want a phone with social networking capabilities rather than fancy apps.
The Kin One phone has a circular design and a touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 240 along with a five megapixel camera and 4GB of inbuilt storage. The phone also features a slide out QWERTY keyboard.
The Kin Two phone is a higher-spec model and has a larger touchscreen display that has a 480 x 320 pixel resolution. Kin Two also has an eight megapixel camera and can record HD video in 720p and has 8GB of inbuilt storage. As with the Kin One phone, this model also features a slide out QWERTY keyboard.
Both of the Kin phones run on the NVIDIA Tegra platform and will be sold in conjunction with Vodafone, although pricing information isn’t available as yet.
