A fourth generation iPhone, which is not being released until June 2010, has reportedly been found on the floor of a San Jose bar inside of an iPhone 3G case”.
The phone, which may have been lost by an Apple employee using in “in the wild” is very similar to a Twitpic that was released in February. The phone features a front facing camera, 80GB internal memory and a different button layout. The phone also has a more rectangular form, in a departure from the previous smooth edges of the iPhone.
A new operating system was also on the lost phone, which could well be the OS4 that was announced by Apple last week. The phone initially worked normally but has since stopped booting up, which would suggest that it may have been remotely disconnected.
It is also thought that the new phone could have a back made from a ceramic material, that is transparent but also hardwearing.
It is unclear at this point whether the phone has been lost by an Apple tester, leaked, if it’s a production model or just a prototype, but if the pictures of the handset are real then there’s some changes to look forward to iPhone fans!
