With the advent of companies like Google producing their own mobile phones it was only so long before the providers themselves started turning out their own models, and the latest news is that Orange will be releasing their own handset.
The handset will be known as ‘Boston’and will only cost one euro for customers who sign up to an Orange package plan. It is thought that the UK cost will probably be equally small.
Boston will be released in Poland, Romania and the UK this month and if it proves to be popular it will likely be released throughout Europe.
The Boston phone will be an Android smartphone using version 1.6 of the Android operating system. The specs for the phone include a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
The use of the 1.6 version of Android could well be a contraversial decision since newer phones are now releasing specification lists including the 2.1 version.
