Electronics manufacturer Sharp has revealed that 3D ready mobile phones could be on sale before the end of 2010 and went on to showcase its own series of 3D mini screens.
Sharp showed off their 2 inch LCD screens which they intend to be used by mobile manufacturers to allow mobile phone users to view 3D content on the go.
You’ll all be pleased to hear that you are not required to wear the oh-so-flattering 3D glasses in public however, as the technology will produce the 3D effect without them by using nifty parallax technology.
Sharp showed off the 3D screens as they were attached to a 3D digital camera and managed to capture real-time video streams that can be easily accessed.
Mobile phones with the 3D technology are expected to emerge towards the end of 2010 although no set dates have yet been given.
Yoshisuke Hasegawa of Sharp said meetings were already being held between the electronics firm and major phone manufacturers to discuss using their 3D technology in future mobile handsets.
