We’ve heard all kinds of reports over the past few weeks; iPhone’s make men more attractive, iPhone’s and Blackberry’s can ruin your love life but the most recent news really takes the biscuit and shows that 10% of those aged under 25 think that it’s perfectly ok to text during sex.
Of course we know that texting in many social situations is now acceptable, although some will secretly hate it – at the dinner table for example, but surely there should be limits?
The survey revealed that 10% of people aged under 25 thought that texting during sex was ok (although I wonder what their partners thought); while 24% thought it was acceptable to text when using the toilet and 49% while eating.
There are generational differences though apparently with those over 25 believing it to be less acceptable on all fronts; 6% it was ok to text during sex, 12% when using the toilet and 27% when eating.
The survey by consumer review site Retrevo found these rather disturbing statistics and it is evident that there are some generational differences to be found. The survey also found that a whopping 76% of those under 25 check their Facebook or Twitter accounts before going to sleep and/or when getting up in the morning.
It’s a pretty disturbing image to be honest, is the text message really that important that you can’t wait until you’ve finished in the bathroom? Really?
Perhaps if you’re texting during sex then it might be time to find yourself another partner because they’re evidently boring you, that, or if you keep it up then you might find yourself getting booted out of the bedroom; in which case a text message to your friends might be appropriate.
We’ve heard of mobile phone love before, but this is a step too far if you ask me!
