Orange and T-Mobile have announced that their merged companies will now be called Everything Everywhere, a pretty optimistic outlook for the new brand!
The companies will still be individually known though when dealing with mobile phone customers and they plan to open around 100 new stores all across the UK and will also look at increasing the number of Wi-Fi hotspots as well.
As well a brand new name for their mobile phone collaboration the merger will also allow T-Mobile to launch their own fixed line service while Orange is looking to expand its services by offering TV packages.
The two mobile phone companies announced plans to merge last September and a deal was struck after talks regarding their share in the mobile phone sphere.
The Chief Executive, Tom Alexander, said that they wanted a unique name for their holding company: “What I wanted was a company name that did not distract or confuse from two very strong brands,” he said. “What I wanted was something that was additive. I love Everything Everywhere because it really does encapsulate the vision and the ambition for the company.
“We are going through this revolutionary step in the marketplace where people are getting iPhones, getting Google devices and we have Microsoft’s Phone 7 coming into the market soon. It’s not just about voice and text. It’s about everything else you can do on a mobile phone. People are even talking about apps down the pub.”
Well there you go, more than ‘just a name’ and it will be used as a tagline by the company rather than just the name of the company that is behind the two providers.
Everything Everywhere now has a bigger footprint than its rivals O2, Vodafone and 3 and has 27,000 mobile phone masts and 713 retails stores in the UK.
